Can you cool a CPU with a VORTEX? We can certainly try! Full video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=185VQ...

Vortex tubes are trippy and neat. Plain old compressed air in, cold air out one end and hot air out the other. It's super cool, just insanely inefficient if you plan to actually use it to cool anything lol. There's a video by This Old Tony that builds and explains them, as well as many other videos discussing the physics if that's your thing.
Idk Linus can we
In the thumbnail, I thought he was holding a bottle, so I was expecting a beer cooled pc 🤣
"Don't forget about the hot side"
You just know they're going to strap that to a CPU somehow.
These are called "Hilsch Vortex Tube". You put in compressed air, get +200°C air out the long end and -50°C air out the short side. Terribly inefficient, but simple and no moving parts, and if you need cooling and only have compressed air, this is the perfect solution.
The hot air is like when I ate spicy food
I have literally cooled a pc with this before. It was for a PC embedded in a OEM machine that was to be placed in a very hot plant environment
I watched IRglor 'this old Tony's design and make one of these. He does a good job at explaining how it works also.
Alex doing his best Mr. Beast impression 😂❤️
Sounds a bit noisy unless you can do it from another room :p
yess
He had to have clipped out the OUCH after that hot side test 😂😂😂
Hey Linus, I Was just doing a bit of a research on vortex tube , i read this , Vortex tubes have lower efficiency than traditional air conditioning equipment. They are commonly used for inexpensive spot cooling, when compressed air is available.
"Miraculous device" that's just any thermic engine... freezer, air conditionning, heck even your hair dryer does that
Yess
New type of cpu cooling?
My favorite part is where he actually tries to cool a pc with it
Used one of those to cool down my welds
It’s LTT I’m sure sure there will be some way, scuffed or not
